Our car travel is inclusive for local Northland weddings. There will be no extra travel costs for you, if you are hosting your wedding from Whangarei Heads right up to the top of the Far North.

Have a quick chat with me if you are having your wedding out of town. Travel charged for long distance is reasonable.

If there is any boat/helicopter travel to and from the Islands/other - ex Russell car ferries, that is organised and paid for by clients to fit schedules and suitability. For helicopter flights please note that organised flights must be approved firstly by us for safely reasons. We only fly with reputable companies and pilots.

Yes, and it is just me from start to finish, so I can take all care to deliver you your images consistently.

In the lighter months your full gallery will be quite quick to arrive. Nearer the end of peak season, delivery is usually 4 - 8 weeks.

With the convenience of digital, I take extra photographs during your day so your final gallery is made up on the best looking photographs. and not the half eating/talking and squinty weird ones. Unless they are particularly funny, then heck yes…absolutely they are going too :-)

Often, couples have travelled from all around N.Z, or overseas and it is not possible. That is absolutely a-ok too.

With modern conveniences, it is very easy to meet on Zoom or other prior.

You can feel at ease, there is no pressure whatsoever to feel you need to know what to do on your wedding day, how to stand, put your hand where, a foot there, or other.

Getting married is not something most have ever done, enjoy the moment, each other and I will be there with you to have you sorted.

My style is very relaxed and I prefer more candid style photography. We will capture you being yourselves, a walk, a laugh and all those times in between.

More often than not the more candid laughing photos are the most enjoyed and loved by all. My style is definitely more candid and you will see that in many photographs from your days coverage.

Yes, absolutely, as the vendor who is with couples for most of their day, we get a really good understanding on what times of the day are needed for what. In fact when you are making timeline plans for your day it is a really good idea to have a chat, early on in the planning stages.

We can talk together and make sure you have the time you need for each stage of your day to run. smoothly, well and relaxed for you.

If I am there at reception time, yes please, I do need to refuel after a big day where most often have not eaten prior. If you ask your caterer to provide my plate when you are eating yourselves, no good photography time is lost.

I am very happy to refuel anywhere and do not necessarily need a seat with your other guests if it’s not suitable on your table plan. A seat easy to view and get in and out from is best, thank you :-)

Yes, you can expect in a usual gallery to receive around an 80 - 85% colour and 15 - 20% black and white mix as a rule. It varies from wedding to wedding as some times of the day and looks do suit black and white more than others.

Firstly, we will need to check your date is available.

Once we have confirmed availability, chatted together and know we are the right fit for each other, you are free to book in at any time if you wish to do so.

Bookings are all completed online now. You can do this easily from your home or office. Once that is completed and your date holding - $800 N.Z has been received, you are all officially booked in.

Your date holding payment will be deducted from your total package pricing. It is not an additional payment.

We will have a few first release images for you shortly following your wedding day. This gives you some flattering images to share with family and friends while you wait for your final collection to be worked on. Usually this is within four days of your wedding, but in peak season when we may have multiple weddings in a week, it will be as soon as they are available for you, within a two week time frame maximum.

Your final collection of images are all delivered digitally to your online gallery within 4-8 weeks of your wedding day.

You will receive a log in and a private password for your wedding gallery. This is great for family, friends and those afar you would like to share your log in and images with them.

I do share and love to support your other fantastic vendors and am happy to provide them photographs from your day.

Vendors desiring images can receive them from us directly. We do not ask for payment from vendors.

We do ask vendors to ensure images are credited to Kathy Elliston Photography when used and agree to terms and conditions when receiving photographs, before they are used.

If you are looking at wedding dates, or have already booked it in with your venue, it is my recommendation you secure your photography as soon as you are ready, to avoid disappointment.

In the popular months I can be booked quite far in advance, and many popular dates booked a year or two, or more, in advance.

Later in the day is usually best for your bridal photographs, when the sun has moved down and is not directly over you. I recommend 100% having some photos with the two of you at this time.

This eliminates many harsher shadows we get at these earlier afternoon times, also hot and bothered peeps.

Photographers often refer to "golden hour", that is the last hour before sunset/nice light time and is beautiful for your photographs. Quite often in summer this works well at a dessert time so is just a pop out for 15 min that I again 100% recommend if you are able. Just absolute goodness!
